The place I call home

If you are a reader of Harlequin's Love Inspired Series, you are probably from the USA or Canada.  Love Inspired Suspense largely serves the North American market, and this is where 99% of my books are sold.
But wherever you are from, I would like to say.......

Croeso

This word is pronounced croy-soh and it means welcome in Welsh, the language of my homeland, Wales. Wales is a beautiful land of folklore and legend, with wild rolling hills, acres of farmland and a population that is obsessed with singing.  Wherever two or three Welsh people are gathered, you've got yourself a choir!

For reference, here it is on a map.

You might be familiar with the country because of The Prince and Princess of Wales. The Prince of Wales is a ceremonial title usually given to the eldest son of the Monarch.

The current Prince and Princess of Wales are William and Catherine.

And this is the flag of Wales (pretty cool, huh?)

A little bit about me....

I live in a small town called Llandovery in West Wales with my husband David and my teenage daughter, Alys. I also have a grown up son named Lloyd who is studying at university in England. I wasn't always an author. I've had a wide variety of jobs, ranging from I.T helpdesk to warehouse worker packing dog treats. I spent a very long time wandering the desert, wondering why I just couldn't find a fulfilling job.

Then I got the call.......

After taking part in a Harlequin fast track book event in 2013, my story was chosen to be published and I received a telephone call all the way from New York City from a wonderful editor with whom I'm still working today. I was elated, and I've been writing ever since.  Christian romance is where I belong. My father was a vicar (priest) and the church is my natural home.  I still tear up when hearing "come unto me all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."  The message of God never gets old. He meets us exactly where we are. We are not perfect, but we are loved.

And that is why I write. Because perfection is unattainable. The messy, warts-and-all drama of flawed people is what fuels my stories. I approach each character without judgment, allowing them the freedom to make mistakes and be human. I love what I do, and I appreciate every reader who comes along for the ride.

Blessings

Women and girls make up the majority of my family. The poor men are vastly outnumbered

She has dementia and I share her care with my older sister.

My father, the Reverend David Rees, whom I sadly lost in the year 2000. His influence on my life has been profound.

I then created my own beautiful family

In 2024, we returned to the chapel where we married, taking our son and daughter.

Majestic Yosemite. The whole of the UK fits into Texas, so the sheer size of the USA is overwhelming to me. So much space!

One of my favourite photographs.
My son at a local Iron-Age fort, where the first settlement has been dated to 5700 years ago.
Many feet have walked this path long before me.
